Chinale is an extensively modernised and well furnished detached old Cornish cottage surrounded by farmland that was once the residence of the superintendent of the Charlotte mine, (now a ruin), in the Chapel Porth valley. The property is still owned by his descendants and his original desk that was once used at the mine remains in use in the cottage.
The accomodation will sleep up to 6. A main double bedroom, a second double bedroom, a single bedroom and a study/single bedroom are upstairs with separate bathroom. Bed linen is provided. The ground floor comprises a main sitting room, second sitting room, dining room, kitchen with annexe and en suite toilet/shower and a conservatory attached. The kitchen is modern with large oven, hob and microwave and fridge/freezer. Oil fired central heating throughout and cast iron log burner. Digital TV and DVD.
The garden is nicely set out with many shrubs and a small fish pond. A barbecue area and outside gravel patio is provided. There is a covered garage and a carport for 2 cars with hard standing for 2 more There are extensive views across fields to Carn Brea and central Cornwall and also of the North Cornwall coast down towards St. Ives and Godrevy lighthouse.
Chapel Porth beach (no dogs May/Sep) is 1 mile, Trevaunance Cove (dogs on lead) is 2 miles, Porthtowan (no dogs) 3 miles and Perranporth sands (dogs allowed) is about 5 miles. The main village with supplies and pubs and restaurants is about 3/4 of a mile by footpath. Numerous coastal and rural walks from the locality with stunning views from the high point of the Beacon. Main town centres are Truro and Redruth/Camborne around 8 miles by car.
