Activities around St Agnes
Bounded by coastline on three sides, the sea and coast have played a pivotal role in Cornwall's history and continue to play an important role in Cornish life. The County has the longest coastline of any area in England, nine river estuaries and approximately 300 beaches. The diverse countryside, rich with Cornish heritage and stunning scenery, includes 6,500 footpaths and 200 miles of cycle routes.
In Cornwall you are never far from the sea in almost any direction, but there is a wealth of other activities and attractions for the visitor. This is the home of several important national colections and museums, such as:
- The National Maritime Museum
- The National Seal Sanctuary
- The National Lobster Hatchery - Padstow
- The National Collection of Camellias (and several others)
- The National Surfing Centre, Newquay
- Tate St. Ives
... as well as other famous attractions such as The Eden Project, Poldark Mine, Flambards, Paradise Park and many more too numerous to mention here.
In and around St Agnes itself there are many opportunities for rest, relaxation and even exercise with all the family. Use the menu on the left to discover the superb beaches and scenic coastline, countryside and cliff-top walks, and the arts-and-crafts trail.
